brave new world is a visionary novel by aldous huxley depicting dystopic world, where society is ruled by perfect application of bio-power. both that society and that of contemporary neo-liberal capitalism function on the basis of governing by use of desires and needs, which are, however, generated by the system to perpetuate itself. abundance of goods, forced consumerism, dispropotional accumulation of capital, paralysis of individual action and critical thinking through infinite superficial entertainment and subconscious messages are tools for atomisation of contemporary society as well. rather than social normativity mediated through control, restrictions and orders (restraints demarcated as negation/opposition of what is allowed) it is dissemination of pleasures as a means of distribution of power in neo-liberal capitalism. this story is narrated in fragments and flickers of images, as an abundant cumulation of (not only) visual pleasures, leading to climax of experience of singular and ultimate physical pleasure- orgasm- which becomes the only moment of complete implosion of both body and ego.
ultimate pleasure as deconstruction of pleasure-power governing system.
can a profane physical pleasure become an emancipating instrument with a potential to re-form society by relating its members to each other?
